A long time ago, Macs had no viruses or malware. However now, even with the Apple firewall turned on, Macs get them too. (Not nearly as often as Windows machines, but often enough to now need third-party antivirus software.) I chose McAfee because of it's reviews, and for its one low price that covered both my Macs.
Sure enough, McAfee found lots of Trojans and other nasty stuff on my Macs, and stopped the annoying beeping I kept hearing on one of them. However, I snow must spend a lot of time clicking the close boxes it produces. My complaint about McAfee and other products like it is:
I find myself rebooting my Macs less often now because every time I open a program, McAfee warns me and wants me to set it to ALLOW. It does not remember my choices, so I must do this constantly after each reboot. McAfee is a good product and their support is great.
